Erik Epp - Editor of WiseOptions

Growing up on a farm taught me discipline, the value of hard work and appreciation for seasonal timing and the market forces of supply and demand.  Upon graduating with Honors from High School I joined the military and served in a Special Forces Unit and later as an Intelligent Analyst in the Air Force where I learned not just the power of analysis but also the importance of timing and probabilities.

In 1988 I came into the world of finance, after switching careers due to a major injury from service in the electronics world (Xerox, where I won two awards for innovation).  I graduated with Honors in Accounting and Finance in 1988 and was hired as an Internal Auditor for TD Bank.  It was while being a part of an audit team of TD Greenline (later to become TD Waterhouse) that I decided to switch to investing/trading, specializing in options. From there I taught finance and investing at several colleges, pursued my own education and worked with other brokerage firms and on the floor of a stock exchange.

I completed all the necessary courses and licensing requirements to become a fully-qualified licensed Branch Manger for securities, commodities and futures.  I am a former R.P.A. (Registered Public Accountant).

As I became more passionate about options I began developing my own unique analytical systems for options trading.  In 2003 I founded WiseOptions and we began offering the "Premium Strategy".  It was based on credit spreads and achieved a 90% success ratio.  When the market changed in 2006, we changed our focus to encompass more varied options strategies.  In early 2007 I became the chief editor and began offering the "OptionsMaximizer".

As Editor of WiseOptions, my goal is to provide individual options investors with suggestions that result in consistent steady returns that reflect honest reporting that are net of costs and based on worst-case scenario. My trading methodology is based on two guiding principles: 1) Keep It Simple, and 2) Stick to my own analyses and calculations and ignore all the “hype”, “noise” and “hoopla”, which is often nothing more than just that.
